Misconceptions about the party system.

As you all should be aware, election time is drawing nearer and it is time to seriously consider which candidate will recieve your support.

Most of you have probably cast your vote towards either the republican or the liberal party, some of you may even be supporting a more radical group such as the libertarian party. But what you must ask yourselves is whether or not your vote will make a difference. Most poeple are under false inpression that whichever there are huge differences in party ideologies, in reality the opposite is true.

There are two types of parties.....

Mainsteam parties - This catagory consists of the republican and liberal parties. Surprisingly there is almost NO difference between these parties. Both are rightwing-moderate parties that support statism and elitism. The difference lies in trivial civil rights issues such as abortion, gun control, and free speech. (these issues are by no means trivial, but are insignificant when it comes to the big picture) The place where these parties differ the most lies in the area of economics, though the liberal party is by no means socialist, it does advocate higher taxation and welfare. The republican party, however, advocates just the opposite, though the republican party tends to be complacent, it takes no steps towards lowering taxation or eliminating welfare.

Third parties - This catagory consistes of parties such as the libertarian party, the constitution party, and the national socialist (nazi) party. I will not devote a large amount of time explaining their policies (as it would take weeks) but it will suffice to say that the majority of these parties offer more freedom than you cound ever hope for with a mainstream party. There is a catch of course, third parties dont win elections.

You are therefor forced to make a choice. You can vote for a statist-collectivist party that will slowly erode your freedoms, or you can vote for a party that has no chance of winning. Most people will tell you that voting for a third party is a waste of your vote, I consider this to be bullshit, the only way you can waste your vote is if you vote for a party that doesnt share your beliefs.

I hope this has made you re-think your support for some of the mainstream parties, or at the very least, I hope you now realize that there are planty of choices out there. Then again, you can always take the high road and not vote at all.
